The
third and last album from Matthews Southern Comfort was perhaps an attempt
to become more commercial. The American Country/Folk influence is still
there, but the album includes songs from Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Jesse
Winchester, not to mention Goffin/King. Woodstock was a chart success but
it seems to have been forgotten over time and the Crosby, Stills and Nash
version is the only one you hear now.
Ian Matthews' song writing was as strong
as ever - And Me being a superb example.
