Pentangle - In The Round

Most of the tracks on this CD are written by the group and most of them are pretty good, too. It means that the this is one of the less traditionally folk oriented albums by the group. When it comes to the traditional tracks, it would have been better to leave She Moved Through The Fair on the shelf - this song has been done to death by everybody and his dog - a most notable version being Alan Stivell's - and now every time I listen to it I hear his atrocious French accent, not unlike Antoine des Caunes at that point.

The Pentangle line up for this album is:

Mike Piggott - acoustic and electric guitars, fiddle, mandolin and vocals
Nigel Portman Smith - bass, DX7, Fender Rhodes, piano, accordion and vocals
Bert Jansch - acoustic guitar, banjo and vocals
Terry Cox - drums, DX7, percussion and vocals
Jacqui McShee - vocals

The copyright notice on the CD says that the CD is issued under licence from Bert Jansch and Jackie McShee
