Almost
as
good as Galleries Revisited this is a fine folk revival album. The Lyke
Wake Dirge has to be the highlight - it was also sung be Pentangle on their
Basket
of Light album, but this is a gritty traditional version. The rest of the
album is made up of a strong selection of sea-shanties and great traditional
songs.
The sampler itself is not available on
CD as far as I know, this album will cost you around £50 from a collectable
supplier, fortunately all of the Young Tradition recorded repertoire is
now available from Castle.
